If you are a foreigner in Wenzhou, you might have heard or used this app, it's called Hamster International App. After seeing the lack of English language apps catered for foreigners in China, the founders of this application decided to find a solution.
Introduction
Hamster International App is a comprehensive e-commerce service platform, which mainly serves foreigners in China. The existing functions are online commodity delivery function and information service platform function. The main functions are as follows: AI intelligent assistant-Ruby; food, daily goods pick-up and delivery.
Users can freely switch between Chinese and English languages in the app. The market goal of this project is to become the first multilingual comprehensive e-commerce service platform in China.
Awards and honors
The project has won numerous prizes in China such as Kente and Silk Start-up Pitch Competition--2019, of which they won 15,000 RMB funding after finishing up at the first place.
Earlier that year, they won 150,000 RMB funding from Wenzhou government after they finished at the second place in Longwan district entrepreneurship competition.
The project is a brainchild of a Tanzanian International student George Solomon Njau, an IT engineering graduate from Wenzhou-Kean University.

Because of the pandemic, Mr. George could not attend the 2020 Docking Meeting of Innovation Projects and Venture Capital of Wenzhou Innovation and entrepreneurship conference in the Yangtze River Delta. Here, seven investment institutions and seven innovation projects signed investment intention agreements, the total amount signed reached 190 million yuan.
On this conference, Hams was represented by Belle Hu on behalf of Mr. George, she performed very well and won an angel round investment intention of 20 million yuan. Celebrating the news after hearing it, he wrote on his WeChat:
